National Framework for Before- and After-School Activities in Basic Education 2011

Before- and after-school activities refer to supervised activities provided for pupils in basic education according to the Basic Education Act. These activities are the responsibility of local authorities as a whole.

According to the Basic Education Act, the Finnish National Board of Education determines the objectives and core contents of before- and after-school activities by issuing a framework for these activities. Before- and after-school activities must be provided in compliance with this framework.
