Self-evaluation can be defined as a dynamic and progressive assessment process adopted by a VET institution, under its own control and responsibility, but referring to external training goals (mostly national). Some assessment approaches are initiated by national or regional authorities as the main way to better manage the quality of VET. Others are chosen by top management of training organisation to improve the quality of processes and to promote the achievement goals of the organisation. The self-assessment may cover one, several or all of the factors that impact on the quality of the training provision.
The purpose, models and ethics of self-evaluation including different approaches to self-evaluation are presented shortly in sub-pages.
